Privacy Policy

No accounts, no tracking.

Cobble Gobble has no sign-up and no login. It contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking software. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not ask to track you across other apps or websites.

Your location stays on your device.

The game uses your location only to notice which streets you have walked, entirely on your iPhone. Your location is never uploaded, never sent to me, and never shared. I could not see where you have walked even if I wanted to.

What's stored, and where.

Your settings stay on your device. Two things are backed up to your own private iCloud (Apple's key-value storage), so a new iPhone — or deleting and reinstalling the game — does not lose them:

• which city you picked as your free one: a single value, no location in it;
• your progress: which streets you have finished, your score, and the days you played each city.

Your progress is worked out from your location, so let me be plain about it: the fact that you finished a particular street — and that you played a city on a particular day — is stored in your iCloud account. Your location trail itself is not — only the finished result. Both live in your iCloud, governed by Apple's privacy policy; I have no access to either and cannot read them. If you would rather nothing left the phone at all, Settings ▸ Progress backup switches it off. New progress then stays on that phone; the copy already in your iCloud stays there until you delete it, which the same screen lets you do while backup is off.

Network connections the app makes.

Cobble Gobble connects to the internet only to:

• download the city catalog and city map packs from my content server — anonymous requests that carry no account, no identifier, and no information about you;
• talk to the Apple App Store (via StoreKit) when you buy or restore a city;
• store the free-city value and your progress in your Apple iCloud, as described above;
• display the map: like any app that shows a map, it uses Apple Maps, which loads map tiles for the area you are viewing. That connection is handled by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy.

A city you own plays fully offline.

Reporting a map problem.

If you choose to report a wrong street or map error, the app opens a pre-filled email in your own mail app. Nothing is sent unless you send it. That report describes a point on the map (a street's midpoint or a spot you tapped) — never your own location — plus the city and your note.

Purchases.

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. The app verifies them on your device using Apple's own StoreKit; there is no purchase-tracking server.

Children.

Cobble Gobble is rated 4+ and collects no data, so it is safe for all ages.

Changes.

If this policy changes, I will update this page and its date.
